Not the OTR tax certificate. A closing still needs the official certificate from the Office of Tax and Revenue. Details
Method and sources
- Integrated Tax System Public Extract (Office of Tax and Revenue, 221,165 SSL); Building Permits 2009 to 2026 (Department of Buildings); Vacant and Blighted Building Addresses. Open Data DC, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Contains data from the District of Columbia.
- 523 entries of the extract that are possessory interests or leaseholds (identifiers starting PI or WFI), not lots, are left out.
- Joined by SSL. A permit filed under another SSL (a condominium's base lot, for example) appears on that SSL.
- Balances are those of the extract on its extraction date; payments after that date are not reflected.
- No owner name or mailing address was collected, nor the homestead flag. We show the street, never the civic number; civic numbers in permit descriptions are removed.
- Medians: computed by us on at least 11 properties or sales.
